JEDI in the Arts is building a collaborative community of artists, arts leaders and advocates to promote alliances and friendships across diverse cultural arts communities, to support each other, and to ensure access to the arts in Monterey County.
We have gathered a working group of 30 artists and arts leaders to build personal and professional networks across the siloed communities. We plan to expand the group to a large and broad segment of artists in Salinas, on the Peninsula, and in North and South Counties through a series of Artists Mixers, roundtable discussions, and other events. We want to develop alliances, friendships, and working relationships among artists who don’t currently find themselves in the same rooms, or working on common projects because of our racially segregated neighborhoods, cities, and workplaces.
JEDI in the Arts is sponsored by the Arts Council for Monterey County and Arts Habitat.
