The City of Seaside in collaboration with JEDI for the Arts, a program coordinated by Arts Habitat, recently presented Celebrating Our Cultural Heritage Exhibition.
Local artists were invited to participate in an exhibition named "Celebrating Our Cultural Heritage" from April 29 to June 27, 2024 at the Walter Lee Avery Gallery at Seaside City Hall, 440 Harcourt Avenue, in Seaside. The exhibit will display more than 100 visual art pieces.
Prizes were awarded by a panel of four jurors, in categories such as best representation of the exhibition's theme of Cultural Heritage and best in medium. Cash prizes were awarded to help artists afford to make art and prepare their work for future exhibition.

We have gathered a working group of 30 artists and arts leaders to build personal and professional networks across our county's siloed communities. We plan to expand the group to a large and broad segment of artists in Salinas, on the Peninsula, and in North and South Counties through a series of Artists Mixers, roundtable discussions, and other events. We want to develop alliances, friendships, and working relationships among artists who don’t currently find themselves in the same rooms, or working on common projects because of our racially segregated neighborhoods, cities, and workplaces.
