Sculptor, Photographer, Painter and Arts Activist Trish Triumpho Sullivan

Arts Habitat will present sculptor, painter, arts activist and photographer Trish Triumpho Sullivan, in a program about silk painting entitled "Sensual Silk", at Arts in Progress on Tuesday, October 25, at Arts Habitat | Studio Seaside, 840 Broadway Avenue, Suite B3, in Seaside City Center (next to Erik's Deli), from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and complimentary refreshments are served. The first and last half hours are devoted to socializing and community building; the program runs from 7:30 to 8:30.

Ms. Sullivan is a long time resident of Salinas. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Fine Art from Hartnell College, a B.A. in Visual and Public Art from C.S.U. Monterey Bay, and a Masters of Art in Arts Administration from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sullivan has broad experience as a curator and was twice the recipient of the coveted Boronda International Art Scholarship, which made possible her studies of the art and culture of Spain, Mexico City and Oaxaca, Mexico.

In 2001 Trish organized Artistas Unidos (AU), a multicultural, multidisciplinary community arts organization focused in Salinas. Through AU, Sullivan has encouraged community participation and teen involvement in the arts with programs such as ArtSong Youth Arts Festival and First Fridays Art Walk in Old Town Salinas. She also founded the Salinas Arts Congress. Trish currently teaches at the local community college and is the Executive Director of the Gilroy Arts Alliance.
