Arts Habitat will present Robynn Smith at Arts in Progress (AIP) on Tuesday, October 27th, for a presentation entitled Robynn Smith: The Lure of the Unknown.
 
Join painter, print maker and art educator Robynn Smith as she discusses her artistic journeys and world travels. She is just back from a recent artist's residency in Iceland so will have much to show and talk about!

Robynn Smith is an internationally exhibiting painter, print maker and a Studio Art Instructor at Monterey Peninsula College. The source material for her work is based upon her travels and observations. She utilizes a wide variety of photographic, print and painting techniques in her mixed media paintings and prints.
 
Robynn received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from San Jose State University. She grew up in New York and has lived her adult life in Santa Cruz, California.
 
Notable solo exhibitions include the Monterey Museum of Art, the Triton Museum of Art and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History. Robynn has been included in a number of international exhibitions including Gallery EF in Tokyo, Japan; Bank Studio Gallery in Queenstown, Tasmania; and The National Museum of Belarus.

Robynn's artists' residencies include the Frans Masereel Center for Printmaking in Belgium; the Kala Institute in Berkeley California; the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois; Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass, Colorado; Villa Montalvo Center for the Arts in Saratoga, California; Crater Lake National Park in Oregon; Open Studio, Toronto; and LARQ, Queenstown, Tasmania, Australia.
