Arts in Progress

Teresa Del Piero

Teresa Del Piero, local actor and President of the Monterey County Theatre Alliance, will speak about her work on stage and behind the scenes to keep local theatre alive!

Teresa was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was fortunate to attend a public school that had a robust arts education program and was identified in elementary school as being a talented artist.  She was selected to attend art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art with the same teacher who taught Andy Warhol.  She was bitten by the theatre bug in high school and went on to graduate from Boston University with a BFA in Acting in 1979.  A job with a children's theater company in Sunnyvale brought her to California. She taught and performed in both northern and southern California until settling in Monterey County in 1985 with her husband Eric.

Teresa was a charter member of the Monterey County Film Commission and served as President twice.  She is currently President of the Monterey County Theatre Alliance and is serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the MPC Theatre Company Charitable Trust.  Teresa is a member of SAG/AFTRA.  She has been seen on stage locally at MPC, Magic Circle Theatre, Cherry Center for the Arts, Pac Rep and The Western Stage.  Teresa and her husband received the 2012 Champion of the Arts Philanthropist Award from the Arts Council for Monterey County.  They continue to support the arts locally.
