AIP takes place the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event takes place at the Auditorium of the Museum of Monterey, 5 Customs House Plaza, Monterey. AIP is open to the public, the admission fee is $5 and complimentary refreshments are served. The first and last half hours are devoted to socializing and community building.

Katie Clare Mazzeo and Penny Hanna invite you to explore the revival of music from the past played on historic instruments - the harpsichord and the viola da gamba. The 20th century has expressed the desire for authenticity in the performance of music of the past.  Modern listeners now have the privilege of learning how early music of 17th and 18th centuries  may have sounded.  Instrument builders, scholars, performers, composers, and museum collections all contribute to this expansion and re-creation.

Katie Clare Mazzeo began her career as a pianist but fell in love with the harpsichord, and began collecting early keyboard instruments. While she continues to perform and teach piano, she has been particularly interested in presenting music of the 17th and 18th centuries on the harpsichord.

Penny Hanna started her career as a double bassist and was introduced to the viola da gamba as a teenager. She continues as a bassist, reed player and vocalist in various styles of popular music and is an enthusiastic aficionado of historical music notations from the 14th century onward.

Katie Clare and Penny began their collaboration more than 10 years ago, and frequently invite other artists to share the magic of historical performance.
