   Provide affordable and ecologically responsible work and living space for visual, literary, and performing artists and arts organizations.
  Provide educational arts resources and services for regional, national and international audiences.
  Stimulate the economy and enhance the quality of life of the central coast region by creating a new arts marketplace.
  Create a cultural bridge linking the communities of the Salinas Valley and the Monterey Coast.
  Build a diverse, multicultural arts community which promotes ethnic identity and pride while enhancing cross-cultural appreciation and understanding.
  Facilitate synergy among artists and arts organizations from diverse disciplines to strengthen the development of all arts of the area.
  Preserve historic sites and buildings within the ARTS HABITAT complex.
  Become self-sustaining through rents, percent of sales income, event receipts, fees and class/workshop income.
