AHA! 2010 Arts Habitat Live and Silent Auction

Arts Habitat is presenting its inagural auction event, AHA! 2010, on October 16 at the Carmel Woman's Club. AHA! is Arts Habitat's Auction event which will include art and non-art items. We are seeking items from collectors and artists. Artists will receive 50% of the pretax sale price of their item, and may request to have the live auction artwork returned to them if it does not sell at AHA! 2010. 40-50 items are needed and will be presented in 2 categories- live and silent auction. Live auction items should have a value of $250 or more and will be auctioned by the notable Peter De Vries. These items can include paintings, drawings, photographs, literary documents, sculpture and textile art. Additional items could include a week in a vacation home or time-share, a gourmet dinner for 6-12 guests, frequent flyer miles or an aerial tour of the Monterey Peninsula.

Silent auction items should have a value of $50 to $250 and could be tickets to a performance, art lessons, small art objects, fine wine, a dessert a month or horseback riding lessons.

Donors are invited to be creative in their giving and will receive a tax deduction for doing so. The event begins at 5:00 P.M. and ends at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $15 and includes an auction bid number, glass of wine and appetizers throughout the evening.
