Monterey County Artists Open Studio Tour

                                     Art Where It Starts


Registration is now open for the 2018 Monterey County Artists Open Studio Tour - an annual, self-guided tour of artist studios and exhibition spaces across the county. The tour will take place in Peninsula, Coastal and Carmel Valley locations on September 29 & 30; and in Salinas, Salinas Valley, and North & South County locations on October 6 & 7. Artists are invited to open their studios both weekends, for no additional fee. Tour hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Tour Exhibition including one work of art by each participant will take place at the Walter Lee Avery Gallery at Seaside City Hall, from September 10 through October 25. Registration forms and fees must be postmarked by the following dates:

February 14, for a registration fee of $150

March 31, for a registration fee of $200

May 14, for a registration fee of $250

May 31, for a registration fee of $300

June 15, for a registration fee of $350

In order to increase participation in Salinas and South County, Arts Habitat is offering a 50% discount off the above listed registration fees to artists participating in Salinas, Salinas Valley and South County.


Are you interested in participating, but don’t have a studio or prefer to show your work somewhere other than in your studio? We have arranged for use of the following locations, at no additional cost to participants: Carl Cherry Center for the Arts, Oldemeyer Center, Hidden Valley Music Seminars, Elkhorn Slough Foundation’s Porter Ranch House, River Road Wine Trail Association wineries, and model homes by Century Communities at East Garrison. Participants are welcome to participate one weekend or two, but must participate during the weekend that focuses on their location. There is no additional cost to participate both weekends, unless the participant will be located at a different location each weekend. The fee for two locations is your base fee plus 50%.

Look for free catalogs & maps in the Monterey County Weekly and the Pine Cone in September. A downloadable catalog with maps will be available in early August. A digital map will be available at in the summer.
